Bitch On Wheels

Bitch On Wheels drink recipe

Bitch On Wheels

Bitch On Wheels – Whoa! This drink is something nasty!  Maybe I’m just not a fan of crème de menthe but this drink tasted like a mix of mouth wash and NyQuil… I guess that’s the point… this drink will make you as miserable as a bitch on wheels!

Bith On Wheels:

  • 2 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz dry vermouth
  • 1/2 oz white crème de menthe (I used green)
  • 1 tsp licorice liqueur (I used Ouzo)

Drink Tip: Don’t

Parisian Cocktail

Parisian Cocktail drink recipe

Parisian Cocktail

Parisian Cocktail – What better way to commemorate the opening of the Eiffel Tower and in true ugly American style, get liqueured up, climbing the Eiffel Tour and spitting on tourists below?  Slight problem… I’m not in Paris so I’ll just have to settle for gettin’ liqueured up and shouting French slurs at the Mexican landscapers working below my apartment balcony…

Parisian Cocktail:

  • 1 oz dry vermouth
  • 1 oz gin
  • 1/4 oz  crème de cassis

Drink Tip: Before getting drunk and shouting obscenities at people outside your home, make sure you have an escape rout, you’d be surprised at teh damage a leaf blower can do when used as a weapon…

Red Vodkatini

Red Vodkatini drink with Khrushchev and Nixon

Sharing a Red Vodkatini with Khrushchev and Nixon

Red Vodkatini – Ahhh yes, the gool ol’ days of knocking back vodka drinks with our Cold War buddies… Nixon was an angry drunk, would start wars, break into office buildings and steal stuff… Khrushchev on the other hand… a real party guy and popular with the ladies…

Red Vodkatini:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz vermouth
  • splash of crème de cassis
  • orange slice

Drink Tip: Know your limit – what kind of drunk are you?  Me?  I’m a happy drunk… I’ve been told I should drink more often…

Peter Pan Cocktail

Peter Pan Cocktail

Peter Pan Cocktail

Peter Pan Cocktail – Sandy Duncan… really?  Today’s drink is in commemoration of Sandy Duncan’s last performance playing Peter Pan on Broadway almost 30 years ago… is that really the best they could come up with for today?  Show of hands, who here even remembers Sandy Duncan? Nothing against the little lady but c’mon, I think we can do better than that!  Today in 1865 the House of Representatives passed a constitutional amendment to abolish slavery, not a bad thing to commemorate if you ask me. How about Jackie Robinson? It’s his birthday today… hell, why not Justin Timberlake?  It’s Justin’s b-day today (turns 30) and we wouldn’t even need to change the name of the drink… he’s kind of a Peter Pan if you ask me… (insert your own meaning)

Peter Pan Cocktail

  • ¾ oz gin
  • ¾ oz dry vermouth
  • ¾ oz orange juice
  • 2 dashes bitters

Drink Tip: If you change what your’re drinking to today, might as well change the drink also… this one tastes like shampoo…

Sundance – Today’s drink was originally scheduled to be a Hong Kong Fizz but  screw ‘dat … I deviated away from the book for today’s drink!  I went with a “Sundance” in honer of the Sundance Film Festival which kicks off today… I already drank the drink (actually drinking it while I type this) and took pics but will have to wait until later to post since I have to head to the airport to catch a flight to Utah for…  the Sundance Film Festival 🙂

UPDATE: OK, I’m in Utah now… saw three movies today and still have time to update this blog… yes, I’m that good… and oh yeah, the drink was pretty good also, just wish I could say the same for the first couple movies…

Can’t make it to the festival? Then just drink it:

  • 1 oz Johnnie Walker Red Label
  • ¼ oz cherry brandy
  • ¼ oz  dry vermouth
  • ¼ oz orange juice

Drink Tip: Toss a couple cherries into that mo’fo’

European – It’s the drink of the day but I’m headed in the opposite direction… flying from Boston to Los Angeles so I didn’t have time to mix it up myself but that’s why they invented airport bars, so busy travelers could fulfill their dream of drinking every day!  I looked up the recipe on my phone, showed it to the bartender and even though they were missing one of the ingredients she was able to mix up something close. She also had a pretty steep hand as she poured the drink, just two of ’em and my cheeks went numb… now that’s a good drink!

Since we modified it we’ll call this a “Boston European”

  • 1 oz gin
  • ½ oz cream sherry
  • 1 oz vermouth
  • 1 tsp Grand Marnier
  • 1 maraschino cherry (add a little of the cherry juice)

Drink Tip: Be sure to make it a double… Shake it up, pour it over ice, knock it back and feel the tingle as your face goes numb! (and don’t miss your flight)

BELOW: Rate this drink from 1-10
Would you recommend this drink (thumbs up/down)
