Champagne – Happy New Year! Last drink of the year… I made it, first New Year’s resolution I’ve ever kept in my entire life; drink (a different drink) every day! In addition to keeping my resolution and having a different “adult beverage” every day, completion of the task also helped me accomplish a secondary project I’ve never been able to do before… take a photo of myself everyday!
Well, here’s to a great night, a great year, and looking forward to what the new year will bring!

Hemingway – What can I say about Hemingway that hasn’t already been said more eloquently? I don’t envy some of the hardships and tragedies he endured but I do admire his brilliance and the way he chose to live his life.
Little bit of a change-up… for the licorice liqueur I used Ouzo instead of Pernod like the drink recipe called for so I’m calling this drink a Greek Hemingway. Those crazy Greeks drink Ouzo like water… I was drinking that stuff for breakfast over there…
Hemingway:
Drink Tip: Follow the directions – I didn’t. I just grabbed the bottles of ouzo and champagne and just started pouring both into a glass at the same time so I ended up with an 50/50 mix… that’s about 3 oz of ouzo instead of just 3/4 of an ounce. First sip and I realized my mistake… that was one potent drink!
Mimosa
Mimosa – It’s a calm and quite beautiful morning as I step outside to breath in the fresh air and listed to the playful chirp of birds in the trees. Through the stillness of the morning I hear a faint popping noise and then another and another… each pop followed by an excited squeal and laugh… Yes, it’s the weekend (actually it’s Monday but just go with me here…), it’s time for brunch and right now soccer moms, middle-age divorcées, and blue haired widows all across America are popping bottles of champagne and sparkling wine as they mix up their favorite alcoholic breakfast drink – the Mimosa. Now for obvious reasons I don’t fall into the aforementioned categories (besides, I’m more of a Bloody-Mary man myself) but any reason to drink in the morning is OK with me!
Mimosa:
Drink Tip: Most common mix is half champagne and half orange juice but it doesn’t really matter, mix to your own taste and start the day off with the bubbles flowing!
