Lady Killer

Lady Killer mixed drink recipe

Lady Killer

Lady Killer – Killin’ the ladies with my smooth moves and tasty drinks… this one is a girly drink but with all the fruit juice it’s not bad as morning beverage with a couple extra shots of energy!

How to be a Lady Killer:

  • ½ oz gin
  • ½ oz orange liqueur
  • ½ oz apricot brandy
  • 2 oz passion-fruit juice
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 maraschino cherry

Drink Tip: Fill your water bottle with a double-double of this drink in the morning before you head to the office… it’ll give you that much needed boost of motivation.

Snowflake(s)

Snowflake mix drink recipe and review

Snowflake

Snowflake – More like a blizzard than a single snowflake… the recipe called for Pear Liqueur but since I didn’t have any (and didn’t feel like going to the store) I decided to get creative but couldn’t decide on just one flavor so I mixed myself up four different flavored drinks… same recipe just a different flavored Schnapps in each.

Snowflake

  • 1½ oz pear liqueur
    • Peach Schnapps
    • Banana Schnapps
    • Butterscotch Schnapps
    • Root Beer Schnapps
  • 3 oz milk
  • crushed ice
  • 2-3 oz 7-Up

Drink Tip: Throw the booze, milk, and ice into a blender then top off with the 7-Up (or Sprite)

After-Work Special

After-Work Special

After-Work Special

After-Work Special – After work, before work, during work… hey, this is a pretty tasty drink that should be enjoyed any time!  Bring back the days when there was a mini-bar in every office… back when it was not only acceptable to have a bottle in your desk, it was rude to not offer a drink to every person that walked into your office… yeah, I watch a lot of old movies… oh, and Mad Men, great show, watch it Sundays @ 10:00 PM et/pt on AMC…

How to make an After-Work Special:

  • 3 oz amaretto
  • 2 oz coconut rum
  • 1 oz white rum
  • 3-6 oz orange juice
  • 3-6 oz pineapple juice

Drink Tip: Orange juice, pineapple juice, almonds, coconut… this is about the healthiest thing I’ve had in recent memory, sounds like a nutritious breakfast!  So if you work from home why wait?  Have one of these babies at your desk while still in your PJs! (OK, so the almonds and coconut is flavored liqueur, but orange AND pineapple juice, c’mon!)

Disco Ball

Disco Ball

Disco Ball

Disco Ball – Sometimes when you’re feeling down (like when the Patriots lose to the Jets) the only way to feel better is to get the disco ball spinning and just dance!  This drink was hot but goes down smooth – just like my dance moves!

Disco Ball:

  • 1 oz melon liqueur
  • 1 oz cinnamon Schnapps

Drink Tip: The book recommends chilling with ice and straining… do whatever you want but please, no disco music… I was just kidding about the dance thing!

Seven Dials Cocktail

Seven Dials Cocktail

Seven Dials Cocktail

Seven Dials Cocktail Shake – Now this seemed interesting, a drink with an egg yolk in it! I was excited to make this one… I mixed it up… and… eh, it was OK… Seemed like it was missing something so I added more ice, more heavy cream, more dark crème de cacao (chocolate liqueur) and threw it in all in a blender… now we’re talking!

My version of Seven Dials:
(If you want the original version, Google it or buy “the book“)

  • 1 oz cognac
  • 2 oz dark crème de cacao (chocolaty goodness)
  • 1 tbls of Grand Marnier
  • 2 oz double cream
  • 1 egg yolk
  • lots of ice and toss it all in a blender

Drink Tip: Don’t forget to put the cover on the blender before turning it on! …messy, messy, messy… or better yet, go out and get a Wendy’s Frosty and just add the alcohol!

Edith’s Fizz

Edith's Fizz

Edith's Fizz

Edith’s Fizz – How I imagine this going down…

Archie – “Edith get me a beer will ya?”
Edith – “Oh, here ya go Archie!”
Archie –“Aw jeeze Edith this ain’t a beer.”
Edith – “I know Archie, I made it myself, I call it an Edith Fizz.”
Archie – “More like a Dingbat Fizz!

Head to the kitchen and mix up your own:

  • 1½ oz white wine
  • ½ oz maraschino Liqueur
  • 4 oz orange juice
  • 2 oz soda water

Drink Tip: With only a little bit of maraschino liqueur and white wine, there isn’t enough alcohol in this drink to get a fly buzzing… but since you already opened a whole bottle of wine and only used 1½ ounces to make this drink… no reason to let the rest go to waste!

Florida Special

Florida Special

Florida Special

Florida Special – This may be called the Florida Special but it’s not the Florida orange juice that make this drink special, it’s the maraschino liqueur… and why is that so special you ask?  Because it’s only made by one company and it only comes in a bottle one size and that one size bottle made by that one company costs $30! “But Jerry” you say, “Lot’s of bottles of alcohol cost $30 or more.”  Yeah, that’s what I was thinking when I bought it… but, when I got this $30 bottle home and went to make the drink I realised that the drink recipe only asks for ¼ oz… yup, one quarter of one ounce.  Now a bottle of rum may cost $30 but it’s used in a lot of drinks, so I scanned the index in the back of “the book” to see how many other drinks use maraschino liqueur… four… yup, four drinks that use a grand total of… drum-roll please… 1¼ ounces!  At least it comes in a cool looking bottle and I like the design of the label.

Florida Special

  • 1½ oz gold rum
  • ¼ oz Triple Sec
  • ¼ oz maraschino liqueur
  • ¾ oz orange juice

Drink Tip: I realize that I bitched about the cost of the drink and didn’t actually tell you how it tasted… well I ain’t gonna tell ya… If you want to know, stop by my place ‘cuz I’ve got enough maraschino liqueur for everyone!

Who’s The Boss

Who's The Boss?

Who's The Boss?

Who’s The Boss? … “the book” claims this drink is dedicated to the release of a Springsteen album but I’ve got my doubts… c’mon, a drink made with apple sour and lemonade?  Doesn’t sound like a drink for a rock legend, sounds more like something Tony would’ve mixed up for Angela.

Who’s The Boss

  • 1 oz rum
  • 2 oz sour apple liqueur
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 oz lemonade

Drink Tip: If you’re a male live-in housekeeper working for a woman with giant glasses and even bigger shoulder-pads, this drink is perfect, don’t change a thing… If you’re a rock star, go ahead and mix up this drink but just leave out the rum, sour apple, and lemonade… and don’t use a glass, drink strait from the bottle.
