Royal Butt is the drink but I have no idea what's going on here...

Royal Butt – OK, so the drink of the day is a Royal Butt and the book said it has something to do with the discovery of the planet Uranus and how it was named…but, for some reason when I saw the words “Royal Butt” the first thing that pops into my mind is a bunch of 18th century French aristocrats running around, partying and spanking the maids… hey, I’m not saying I’m into that sort of thing but that’s what came to mind.

Not a bad shot at all, I kinda like a bit of butterscotch flavor added to the whiskey, maybe Werthers should come out with some whiskey candy…

How to get your own Royal Butt:

• ½ oz whiskey
• ½ oz butterscotch liqueur

Drink Tip: Throw yourself a French aristocrat themed party, start pouring the shots and see what happens…

Gettin' Zapped with a Texas Lightning Bolt

Texas Lightning Bolt – Not sure what a shot of vodka and lemon juice has to do with Texas or where this drink got its name but I don’t like it so I don’t really care!

Texas Lighting Bolt:

• ½ oz vodka
• ½ oz lemon juice concentrate

Drink Tip: If you want something good and with a kick go back to the Mad Cow I did a few days ago, now that was some strong and tasty shot!

Mad Cow

Mad Cow – Not sure if mad cow disease is contagious but a couple of these shots and you’ll have enough alcohol in you to fight off any infection!  Had a great night catching up with some friends who joined me for today’s drink… plus a few extra…

Mad Cow:

• 1 part coffee Liqueur
• 1 part cream
• 1 part Bacardi 151

Drink Tip: Tasty shot with a good kick… Chill in a shaker with ice, strain into a shot glass and enjoy!

Alamo Cocktail

Alamo Cocktail – Those guys at the Alamo got off easy compared to what I’m doing right now… sure there were only 189 of them against 2,000 Mexicans and they all got slaughtered but hey, at least they were out in the fresh air and only had to die one death!  I’m sitting in the house experiencing an excruciating death with every sip of this drink that I take!  First there’s the burn in the back of the throat that makes me cough like a two-pack a day smoker… then, like a cat clawing a seat cushion, it travels down the esophagus into my stomach creating a reenactment of the Hindenburg disaster (Oh, the humanity!) before traveling back up my chest pushing my heart aside like a Black-Friday Walmart Christmas shopper causing me to leap to my feet and cry out like Chewbacca in heat…. I then pace back in forth across the room giving my head time to clear and the burning in my ears to subside before I sit back down and take another sip… you should try it…

Alamo Cocktail:

• 1½ oz bourbon whiskey
• 1½ oz tequila
• 1½ oz 151 proof rum
• ½ oz hot sauce
• a dash of black pepper

Drink Tip: Make sure your insurance premiums are paid and consult your doctor before drinking…

Winter Break

Winter Break – “Whooah, we’re halfway there…”  Today is the officail hafway point for winter… but I don’t see what the big deal is?  The weather today here in Southern California was no different than it was back in July… warm and sunny… (just had to throw that out there for all my friends and family back in Boston experiencing the worst winter they’ve ever had!)

How to have a Winter Break:

• 1/3 oz Southern Comfort
• 1/3 oz peach Schnapps
• 1/3 oz banana liqueur

Drink Tip: If you hate the cold and snow of winter, mix yourself up one of these and then move your ass to someplace warm, jackass!

Death Sentence

Death Sentence – When they said line up for shots they weren’t kidding!  This drink was a death sentence… the taste, the burn, the after-taste, more burning, the burn now traveling up  my nose…

Make your own Death Sentence:

• 1/3 oz bourbon
• 1/3 oz Jägermeister
• 1/3 oz dark rum

Drink Tip: Don’t do it!

Disco Ball

Disco Ball – Sometimes when you’re feeling down (like when the Patriots lose to the Jets) the only way to feel better is to get the disco ball spinning and just dance!  This drink was hot but goes down smooth – just like my dance moves!

Disco Ball:

• 1 oz melon liqueur
• 1 oz cinnamon Schnapps

Drink Tip: The book recommends chilling with ice and straining… do whatever you want but please, no disco music… I was just kidding about the dance thing!
